DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE Motorola is pleased to announce a transition in marking methodology for MC68020RC and MC68030RC devices manufactured in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (KLM). The MC68020RC and MC68030RC devices will now be laser marked on the ceramic substrate above the metal cap. Currently the devices are ink marked on the centralized metal cap. This Product Bulletin (PB) is forwarded to notify customers of the change from ink marking to laser marking and marking location change. The information laser marked on the MC68020RC and MC68030RC devices will be the same as the information currently ink marked in compliance with Motorola's marking specification 12MRH00191A. The units will continue to be marked with the Motorola symbol, part number, mask set identifier, and trace code. This marking process change will improve operational efficiency at Kuala Lumpur and allow Motorola to better meet customer demands. QUALIFICATION PLAN None available, not applicable.
