    DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE

          Motorola has qualified a 2nd source supplier of silicon for use on
          UDR products manufactured in MOS9 and also a higher grade of
          silicon from the current supplier. This proposed change was first
          intimated in GPCN Number 6568 issued on 19th July 2001.

    QUALIFICATION PLAN

          The qualification plan is a standard three lot qual excluding
          package level tests which were deemed unnecessary. This will
          include HTOL, ELFR, ESD, LatchUp, EEPROM - Data Retention
          Write/Erase, PreConditioning, Temp Cycle, Gate Leakage and
          Electrical Distribution.

    RELIABILITY DATA SUMMARY

          The alternative silicon substrates have demonstrated equivalent
          performance to the silcon currently being used.
