DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE

      Motorola is pleased to announce the Internal Clock Generator
      circuitry change for the MC68HC908KX8/2, which improves short term
      jitter and provides better stability. As a result of this change,
      the ICG correction steps between 15 percent and 5 percent are now
      smaller, resulting in a longer total lock time. Please refer to the
      latest specification on the Motorola Product Website in Section 7 of
      the Internal Clock Generator Module, specifically in the Digital
      Loop Filter and Total Settling Time for complete information on this
      change.
     
      Motorola continues to make substantial investments in both new
      technologies and improved manufacturing capabilities to provide you
      the highest quality and most reliable semiconductors in the
      industry. We believe these actions will also improve our ability to
      serve you in the future.

QUALIFICATION PLAN

      Qual plan included ESD, latchup stress and electrical distribution
      data, available upon request.

RELIABILITY DATA SUMMARY

      All Qual stresses passed, and electrical characterization met all
      requirements, final summary available upon request.

ELECTRICAL CHARACTERISTIC SUMMARY

      Electrical characterization was performed and meets all
      requirements. All Cpk's are greater than 1.33. Full report is
      available upon request.

CHANGED PART IDENTIFICATION

      The maskset on the marking will change from 1L09H to 2L09H.
