    DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE

          Motorola would like to give advance notification of its intent to
          evaluate elimination of 100 percent production ambient test on the
          0.25um MC9S12Dx128 and MC9SDx128E products manufactured in TSMC Fab3
          and KLM facilities.

    QUALIFICATION PLAN

          The following steps will be carried out:
         
         
          1. Analyze failures from a minimum of 46,052 parts from at least 12
          wafer lots.
         
          2. Ensure all ambient test failures from existing test flow will be
          captured as ambient eliminated test flow.
         
          3. Eliminate ambient test on MC9SDx128E and MC9S12Dx128. QA gate
          tests are unaffected.
         
          4. An update PCN will be issued once evaluation is complete to
          provide an update on results and ambient test elimination
          implementation schedule. If any further information or
          clarificaiton is required at this time, please do not hesitate to
          contact your Motorola Field Sales or Field Quality Respresentative.
