DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE

      Motorola would like to announce qualification of ChipPac Malaysia
      (CPM) as an approved sub-contract test supplier in Kuala Lumpur,
      Malaysia for MC9S12Dx128 and MC9S12Dx64 devices.
     
      As detailed in the Product Bulletin 8118: (FINAL MFG CONTRACT TEST
      QUALIFICATION) announcing this planned change, Motorola planned to
      introduce a supply expansion plan by qualifying two test contract
      sites in Malaysia, ChipPac and KTM (previously called KESM).
     
      The product lines affected by this change are listed below and
      include all product lines for MC9S12Dx128 and MC9S12Dx64 devices.
     
      Motorola has now completed the successful sub-contract test
      qualification of ChipPac Mayalsia for MC9S12Dx128 and MC9S12Dx64.
     
      This is the Update Notification issued with data available from the
      CPM qualification for MC9S12Dx128 and MC9S12Dx64.
     
      This now completes all of the intentions outlined in PB8118: (FINAL
      MFG CONTRACT TEST QUALIFICATION), with MC9S12Dx256, MC9S12Dx128 and
      and MC9S12Dx64 qualified in ChipPac Malaysia and KTM (previously
      called KESM. Copies of all qualification reports are available on
      request.

CHANGED PART IDENTIFICATION

      Where applicable, traceabiliy code will change to indicate the test
      site. Trace code for ChipPAC is RH. Trace code for KESMalaysia is MZ.

ELECTRICAL CHARACTERISTIC SUMMARY

      Copies of the qualification reports are available on request.

QUALIFICATION PLAN

      The correlation exercise was performed on two MC9SDx128 and two
      MC9SDx64 product lines. Successful Bin to bin correlation was shown
      on 1 lot of approximately 500 units_112ld_LQFP and 1 lot of
      approximately 500units_80ld_QFP as well as datalog comparison.
