    DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE

          Motorola is please to announce in this update that the following
          devices will be qualified in MOS 9.

          This update is in conjunction with Product Bulletin 9349 issued
          November 2003.
         
         
          Motorola is pleased to announce the intent to expand the 0.5um
          process capability to the MOS9 wafer fab facility located in EKB
          Scotland. This expansion is part of the continuous improvement
          strategy and will allow Motorola to increase global capacity for the
          HC08 0.5um product families.
         
          Motorola continues to make substantial investments in both new
          technologies and improved manufacturing capabilities to provide
          customers with the highest quality and reliable semiconductors.
          These actions will also improve Motorolas ability to serve customers
          in the future.
         
          Motorola will be using the following 0.5um products to qualify the
          MOS9 0.5um process:

          Standard part numbers will not change, the additional site will be
          added to the bill of materials. Custom part numbers (SC) are not
          to be impacted at this time. If a customer requests material from
          the new site, a new SC part number will be issued.
         
          The mask set detail will appear on the device as part of the trace
          code.
