INSTALLATION =============== Operational Minimum Configuration: ---------------------------------- - 1.8 GHz Pentium® compatible processor or better - 1 GB RAM - 1 GB hard disk space, 400 MB on Windows system disk Host Operating System Support: ------------------------------ - Microsoft® Windows XP 32-bit and 64-bit (Professional Edition) - Microsoft Windows 7 32-bit (Home Premium Edition and Professional Edition) - Linux Ubuntu 8.10 32-bit and 64-bit Software requirements: ------------------------ - Eclipse 3.6 - Component Development Environment needs a Processor Expert Directory path, this can be found in a: - CW 10.2 Installation or a DriverSuite 5.3 Installation Other requirements: ------------------- - Acrobat Reader 5.0 or higher - ADMINISTRATOR RIGHTS in WinXP - Microsoft XML Core Services (MSXML) 3.0. Free download can be found at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads (Search MSXML3) Installation ------------ These installation instructions describe the correct installation process into Eclipse. For Eclipse 3.6: 1. Download and install Eclipse 3.6 IDE for C/C++ Developers (if it is not installed yet). Windows version of Eclipse 3.6 can be downloaded from here: http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/packages/eclipse-ide-cc-developers/heliossr2 2. Download the Extended Eclipse Updater package - com.freescale.eclipse3.6.ComponentDev1.0.4.updatesite.zip 3. Download the Component Develoment Environment Suite pack - com.freescale.eclipse3.6.ComponentDev1.0.4.updatesite.zip 4. Run the eclipse.exe to start the IDE. Create a new workspace. 5. Install the Extended Eclipse Updater by selecting Help > Install New Software (this is required to install Microcontrollers Driver Suite). Add a new install site using the Add button. Select Archive... and browse to the com.freescale.eclipse3.6.updater.custom.updatesite.zip. Install the plug-in from the site. Restart Eclipse. 6. Install the Processor Expert plug-in by selecting Help > Install New Software. Add a new install site using the Add button. Select Archive... and browse to the com.freescale.eclipse3.6.ComponentDev1.0.3.updatesite.zip file. Install the plug-in from the site. 7. Change Perspective to Component Development Environment Perspective by selecting menu Window > Open Perspective > Other... Component Development Environemnt. 8. Set the Processor Expert Directory Path by selecting Windows > Preferences > Processor Expert > Processor Expert System and set "PEx Directory" to a valid Processor Expert path, this path can be found inside a CW10.2 installation or in a DriverSuite 5.3 Installation. License file(license.dat) must be place under Processor Expert Directory Path. \eclipse\ProcessorExpert> To obtain a license please contact Freescale support http://www.freescale.com/support How to create a new Component Project ------------------------------------------------- 1. To create a new project select the menu command File > New > Embedded Component. 2. Enter Component Name. 3. Select Component Type. 4. Click Next. 5. Enter Shortcut Name, Hint, Author. 6.
