RIP and RIP2 are common routing protocols supported by the Ethernet TAP probe. If your network server does not use RIP or RIP2, the Ethernet TAP probe can still communicate across routers and bridges if a default gateway is acquired as part of the DHCP process or entered in the probe memory.
