RTOS component and LDDs working together

As mentioned earlier, LDDs are capable to generate code depending on what RTOS component has been selected in a Processor Expert project.

An RTOS component is able to provide information to an LDD on how to create OS-specific code for the following cases:

• Enter/Exit critical sections (enable/disable interrupts)
• Memory allocation and de-allocation
• Declare, Install, Save, and Restore ISR in the OS
• Insert the OS-specific include C statements into LDD-generated code

These options provide the basic function to integrate the LDD driver into a particular OS.

The connection of the data generated by the device with the OS is performed in two different ways:

• Direct call to the LDD driver methods
• Receive data from ISR through Processor Expert events
