Import ECU Configuration
You can import an ECU Configuration generated previously in the current configuration or in a new configuration, to can continue it.
Note: Currently, ECU configuration can be imported into the Peripherals tool only.
Note: Imported ECU Configuration file(s) should be compatible with the AUTOSAR 4.4 schema
version.
To import ECU Configuration file(s), do the following:
- In the Menu bar, select File >Import...
- Select S32 Configuration Tools > Import ECU Configuration

- Click Next.
- You can select one or more ECU Configuration files to import using the
Browse button in the Import ECU Configuration window.

If the file couldn’t be found, a message will be displayed in the wizard and finish button will be disabled until the requests are resolved:Figure 3. File not found error
If the uploaded file content is not compliant with the AUTOSAR 4.4 schema version, or if the content can’t be loaded, a message will be available in the wizard, and finish button disabled.Figure 4. File(s) couldn't be loaded error
- Select how to import the files:
- Import the configuration as a new one - Create a new configuration based
on the selected processor, and import the configuration from the browsed
file(s) in the default functional group of the Peripherals Tool.

Note: If the selected processor doesn’t have the support for the Peripherals tool, the import process will not be finished:Figure 6. Peripherals Tool is not supported - error dialog
- Merge into current configuration - All files are merged into the current
configuration, in the selected functional group.

- Import the configuration as a new one - Create a new configuration based
on the selected processor, and import the configuration from the browsed
file(s) in the default functional group of the Peripherals Tool.
- Choose the status of the “Check ECUC-MODULE-DEF value” option.Note: If uncheck the “Check ECUC-MODULE-DEF value”, when the files are imported, the checking of the found ECUC-MODULE-DEF in the current/selected configuration with the one from the imported ECU Configuration file will be disabled. With this disabled, you can import an ECU Configuration file that was generated with an old version of the same processor.
- Click Finish.
If the configuration couldn’t be imported, an error dialog will be displayed.
