NXP may make available digital services that use artificial intelligence to help users find information, navigate NXP content and receive assistance more efficiently.
This notice explains what to expect when an AI-enabled search feature, chatbot or digital assistant is available on an NXP website, portal, support environment or other external digital service.
This notice should be read together with the NXP Privacy Notice and the applicable NXP Terms of Use. The Privacy Notice explains how NXP processes personal data. The Terms of Use set out the legal terms that apply when using NXP websites and related features.
This notice applies to AI-enabled search and digital assistance features made available by NXP to external users, including customers, website visitors, developers, partners, suppliers and other stakeholders.
These features may include AI-powered search, conversational assistance, generated summaries, knowledge retrieval, technical content navigation or support-related assistance.
If a specific service needs more detailed information, NXP may provide an additional notice, label or explanation in that service.
AI-enabled search and assistants are designed to help users reach relevant NXP information faster.
Depending on the service, the feature may interpret a user question, identify relevant NXP content, summarize available information, suggest related resources or provide a conversational response.
These services support information discovery. They do not replace official NXP documentation, product specifications, contractual terms, safety information, export-control guidance, engineering validation or other authoritative materials.
Where AI is used directly in a user-facing feature, NXP aims to make this clear in the service experience.
This may include an on-screen notice, label, message, header, footer or other contextual explanation indicating that the feature uses AI or that a response has been generated or summarized by AI.
Users should review important information before relying on AI-generated results, especially where the information may affect product selection, technical design, regulatory compliance, customer commitments or other business decisions.
AI-enabled search and assistants are designed to work with information sources approved for the relevant service.
These sources may include public NXP webpages, product documentation, technical resources, support information, customer-accessible materials or other authorized NXP sources.
If access to content is restricted, access controls should continue to apply. A user should only receive results from information sources that the user is permitted to access.
When a user enters a search query, prompt, question or feedback, NXP may process that information to provide the service and return a relevant response.
Depending on the service and settings, NXP may also process related information such as generated output, usage information, technical identifiers, log data or diagnostic information.
Users should not submit personal, confidential, proprietary, export-controlled or otherwise sensitive information through an AI-enabled feature unless the relevant service expressly permits that type of information.
NXP may use queries, prompts, outputs and feedback to provide the service, maintain security, monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, detect misuse, improve the user experience and refine AI-enabled services, which may include service specific model fine-tuning where expressly enabled for the relevant service.
NXP does not use such information to train general-purpose foundation models unless this is expressly stated in the relevant service-specific notice. Where such processing occurs, NXP applies safeguards appropriate to the relevant service, which may include access restrictions, confidentiality obligations, security controls, contractual safeguards with service providers, data minimization and measures designed to reduce the use of personal, confidential, proprietary, export-controlled or otherwise sensitive information.
User inputs may be logged and processed for service operation, security, abuse prevention, quality improvement, and troubleshooting purposes. Information regarding the retention of personal data is available in NXP's Privacy Notice.
AI-generated responses may be incomplete, outdated or inaccurate. They may also misunderstand a question or provide a result that appears helpful but does not fully answer the user’s request.
AI-generated content is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute technical, legal, commercial or other professional advice.
For authoritative information, users should consult the underlying NXP source materials, official NXP documentation, applicable terms and conditions, safety documentation and other materials identified by NXP as authoritative.
AI-generated output should not be treated as a binding statement by NXP unless it is expressly confirmed through an authorized NXP channel.
AI-enabled features cannot represent NXP, modify applicable terms or create binding commitments or obligations on behalf of NXP.
If a user believes an AI-generated response is incorrect, unsafe, inappropriate or not helpful, the user may contact NXP through the contact option provided in the relevant service or in the NXP Privacy Notice.
NXP may use feedback to troubleshoot issues, improve the user experience, maintain security and support appropriate operation of the service.
NXP applies technical and organizational measures intended to protect information processed by AI-enabled services.
These measures may include access controls, security reviews, contractual safeguards with service providers, monitoring and other controls appropriate to the service.
More information about NXP’s processing of personal data is available in the NXP Privacy Notice.
NXP may update this notice as AI-enabled services evolve, as additional features are introduced, or as legal and regulatory requirements develop.
The date at the top of this notice indicates when it was last updated.
