Zephyr OS is a small, scalable open source RTOS for IoT Embedded devices. It is optimized for
resource-constrained devices and built with security in mind. A recent benchmark study performed by NXP
Semiconductors shows significant improvements in performance and responsiveness when using Zephyr OS with
its i.MX RT1050 crossover MCU based on Arm® Cortex®-M7 cores, as compared to a
Cortex-A based processor running Linux.
This webinar will introduce Zephyr OS and present the benchmark study results. It will highlight the
benchmark methodology used, including comparisons of real-time OS metrics including context switching,
memory allocation, mutex locking, thread creation and more.
