The OM2385/SF001 EU and US versions are development platforms dedicated to SIGFOX Wide Area Networking applications. These kits include an OL2385 wireless sub-GHz transceiver running a preprogrammed SIGFOX library supporting all defined zones from RC1 up to RC7. The shield board is mounted on a FRDM-K32L2B development platform that serves as host processor for the user's application. The OL2385 is supplied as an Arduino® compliant shield.
The EU version provides a standard output of approx. 14dbm complying the ETSI regulations valid across all of the EU member states and other countries like the UK, Russia and the middle east.
The US version on the other hand incorporates an external power amplifier to boost the output to approximately 24dbm complying with the FCC regulations in the Unites States and parts of South America. The PA may be disabled and bypassed and can therefore also be operated in ETSI countries with standard 14dbm output.
This application intended for FRDM-KL43Z allows user to control OL2385 by commands sent from PC terminal (Baud: 115200, Data Bits: 8, Stop Bits: 1, Parity: None). Documentation for this application is provided in OL2385SWUG
