The K32W0x wireless platform represents the next-generation of Kinetis MCUs and is the second multi-mode offering in NXP’s connectivity portfolio. This platform bridges its predecessor parts by providing a scalable path with higher performance, added functionality and increased security to address the evolving IoT landscape.
The K32W0x is a dual-core platform containing an Arm® Cortex®-M4F for running custom application code and a Cortex-M0+ core for running connectivity stacks as well as power critical tasks. The platform includes 1.25 MB flash and 384 kB SRAM that can accommodate multiple connectivity stacks and leave adequate room for application code.
K32W0x MCUs are designed to ensure IoT products are highly secure and remain secure throughout the life of the product. The platform includes the necessary security features to assure confidentiality, integrity, and authenticity of IoT devices and their data.
Integrating a Bluetooth 5 radio, supporting up to 8 simultaneous connections, a generic FSK radio capable of communicating up to 2 Mbps and an IEEE® 802.15.4 radio to run Thread, the K32W0x can support standalone protocols or multiple protocols running concurrently (time slice) on a single chip, reducing system complexity, size and cost.
