The KW35A/36A is an ultra low power, highly integrated single-chip device that enables Bluetooth low energy (BLE) ver. 5.0 and Generic FSK (at 250, 500 and 1000 kbps) RF connectivity for automotive embedded systems. KW35A/36A supports up to 8 simultaneous BLE connections as either a master, a slave or any combination. The KW35A/36A is designed for applications that center on bridging the embedded world to smartphones to enhance the human interface experience, share embedded data with the cloud, or enable wireless firmware updates. Leading the automotive applications is the Digital Key where the smartphone not only can be used as an alternative to the key FOB for unlocking and personalizing the driving experience but also to provide select and authorized access when a key is not needed like you might see in car sharing.
KW35A/36A integrates ARM Cortex-M0+ CPU, up to 512 KB Flash and up to 64 KB SRAM, BLE Link Layer hardware and peripherals optimized to meet the requirements of the target applications.
The RF section of KW35A/36A is optimized to require very few external components, achieving the smallest RF footprint possible on a printed circuit board.
The Kinetis KW35A and KW36A MCUs feature AEC Q100-Grade 2 temperature range qualification.
