This Freedom evaluation board features the MC34933 two channel H-Bridge driver which can drive a single stepper motor or 2 brushed DC motors.

The MC34933 uses Our proprietary SMOS8 Bi CMOS process to deliver a low power device, and operates from 2.0 V to 7.0 V, with a maximum quiescent current of 100uA for the motor drive supply and 400uA for the Control Logic supply. The MC34933 employs a VCC detection circuit to sense when the logic supply switches to an off-state with a maximum current of 1uA to extend battery life. The MC34933 also has thermal protection circuitry for the H-Bridge drivers to avoid damage to the IC's internal Power MOSFET circuitry, as well as built-in dead time control to prevent shoot-through currents. The MC34933 is capable of driving loads up to 1.0A (1.4A peak).
