IEEE® 1588 Precision Time Protocol for Telecom and Networking Applications

IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol can synchronize heterogenous clocks in an Ethernet network with better than 100 ns. This session will introduce IEEE 1588 protocol as it is used in telecom applications such as FEMTO, wireless backbone and audio-video bridging. It will describe the hardware support in eTSEC-based PowerQUICC® and QorIQ® data path acceleration architecture (DPAA) and eTSEC-based PowerQUICC®, QorIQ and the new PSC913x integrated DSP + Power Architecture® devices.
