Your resume should tell your story. That said, we really like to see a job-specific resume where your skills and experiences align with the description for the specific position you are applying for. Here are some tips on what to include on your resume so it stands out from the crowd!

What to include in a job-specific resume:

    • Summary – Include a succinct overview of your work experience as well as the unique professional and personal qualities that you bring to the workplace.
    • Objective - A concise articulation of your skills and qualifications makes you an attractive candidate for the applicable position.
    • Work Experience – To enhance your candidacy, tie your work directly to the role qualifications rather than simply listing previous positions. Emphasize the measures of success for projects you’ve worked on or managed to highlight your responsibilities and accomplishments.
    • Leadership – If you've had a leadership role, tell us about it. How big was the team? What was the scope of your work?
    • Relevant Skills – Include a section for any hard and soft skills that may be applicable to the position and can enhance your appeal.
    • Achievements and Awards – A separate section which emphasizes your successes can set you apart from other candidates with similar experience.

Once you have submitted your application you will receive a confirmation email indicating it has been received. You can also track the status of your application from your candidate homepage. To get there, go to our job listing tool, Sign in in the upper right corner, then click on Candidate Home in the upper right.

    YOU GOT AN INTERVIEW

If our talent acquisition team feels you are a good match for a role you will be contacted, often via email, to arrange an interview. Interviews at NXP traditionally comprise of a phone interview, followed by one or more virtual/in-person interviews

    • Phone – We use phone interviews as the first level of assessment to determine which candidates we want to invite for a formal interview. Phone interviews are typically 15-30 minutes in length and is focused on understanding your skills and experiences, and ensuring your qualifications match the job requirements.
    • Virtual/In-Person - Our virtual or in-person interview format is a series of individual meetings with various members of the hiring team. This method is designed to give candidates a 360-degree view of the department and the role. Styles vary from group to group and change significantly depending on the role you are seeking and the teams with whom you are meeting. Most interviewers aim to get a grasp of your skillset while also asking questions to get to know who you are and how you communicate.
    • Panel – Occasionally, groups will opt for a panel interview that will include several members of the company interviewing you collectively. Your scheduler and recruiter will be able to clarify if this will apply to your interview.

Consider the following tips to prepare you for a successful interview:

Be ready to give examples of your professional skills and work experience.

Remember to emphasize the measures of success to help us understand now just the achievements but the impact of them.

Connect your experiences to the job.

We want to know how you will be successful in the job for which you are applying.

    Bring your questions for us.

This shows us you have taken the time to research NXP and care about understanding our company, the position you are applying for, and how you can really rock at it

Be curious, be you and be true!

    YOU'RE HIRED

We aim to get back to candidates within two weeks of an interview, and a reasonable expectation timeline should be outlined during your onsite interview.

If you are the best candidate your recruiter will reach out to you with an offer. Once you’ve accepted the offer, the NXP talent acquisition team will share information regarding compensation, benefits, company training, etc. You’ll then meet the team, become familiar with your workspace, and officially become a member of the NXP family!
