High Speed CAN with Flexible Data Rate (CAN FD)
CAN FD provides a significant speed increase above classical HS-CAN networks, accelerating bit rates from previously 500 kbps up to 2 or 5 Mbps in the data phase of the CAN FD frame. This, in combination with a maximum payload size increase from 8 bytes to 64 bytes, means the overall net throughput of CAN networks is dramatically improved to serve the needs of the next generation CAN networks.
NXP offers a complete portfolio of CAN FD transceivers complying to the ISO11898-2:2016, spanning all the standard CAN functions and power modes and guaranteeing operation up to 5 Mbps.
