Cortex-M4 MCUs with Cortex-M0 Co-Processors

LPC4300 Series microcontrollers combine the high performance and flexibility of an asymmetric dual-core architecture (ARM Cortex-M4F and Cortex-M0 coprocessor) with multiple high-speed connectivity options, advanced timers, analog, and optional security features to secure code and data communications. DSP capabilities enable all LPC43xx families to support complex algorithms in data-intensive application. Flash and Flashless options support large, flexible internal and external memory configurations. Pin-and-software compatibility with LPC1800 Series MCUs enables LPC43xx MCUs to provide a seamless migration path for increasing processing power and adding the flexibilty of partitioning application tasks across cores.

The LPC4300 Series MCUs are ideal solutions for:

  • industrial automation and control, telematics, white goods, electronic instruments, power management

  • medical and fitness devices, diagnostic equipment

The LPC4300 Series includes six MCU families providing:

  • LPC431x: Range of serial connectivity, advanced timers, analog and high-speed connectivity including CAN 2.0.
  • LPC432x: Range of serial connectivity, advanced timers, analog and high-speed connectivity including Hi-Speed USB, CAN 2.0.
  • LPC433x: Range of serial connectivity, advanced timers, analog and high-speed connectivity including Hi-Speed USB, CAN 2.0, 10/100 Ethernet.
  • LPC435x: Range of serial connectivity, advanced timers, analog and high-speed connectivity including Hi-Speed USB, CAN 2.0, 10/100 Ethernet, and graphic LCD controller.
  • LPC437x: Range of serial connectivity, advanced timers, high-speed analog (80 Msps ADC), and high-speed connectivity including Hi-Speed USB, CAN 2.0, 10/100 Ethernet, and graphic LCD controller.
  • LPC43Sxx: Full range of high-speed connectiviy, timing and analog features combined with security features for code and data protection, including AES encryption, OTP key storage, and true random number generation.

The world's first MCUs to combine Cortex-M4 and Cortex-M0 cores

In the LPC4300 series, the Cortex-M4 processor combines the benefits of a microcontroller with high-performance digital signal processing features such as single-cycle MAC, Single Instruction Multiple Data (SIMD) techniques, saturating arithmetic, and a Floating Point Unit (FPU).

What makes the LPC4300 unique is its dual-core architecture and advanced peripherals. These are areas where a competitive advantage can be gained. Key reasons a customer will consider the LPC4300 series include the following:

  • Dual-core architecture: Only NXP combines M4 with M0, for more efficient designs
  • Performance: At 204 MHz, the LPC4300 is the fastest Cortex-M4 available
  • Peripherals: Configurable options not found elsewhere, plus USB (with PHY) and LCD interfaces
