IP cameras today are becoming increasingly more digital, allowing for more features in compact and smaller form factors. New sensors and features are being added allowing for things like motion sensitive activation and better low-light recording.
These end node cameras are becoming increasingly more powerful, able to do facial recognition, detection and on-the-fly processing and manipulation without the need for doing this in the cloud on a high end server. Network feeds from the cameras can be sent to a video processor or recorder that can be located anywhere in the world for additional analysis. And even with this increase in processing capability, today’s processors use much less power, with some being able to run on batteries.
