The i.MX RT series offers many variants that propel industrial, IoT and automotive applications while delivering high levels of integration and security, with optimal power consumption. i.MX RT Crossover MCUs are supported by the MCUXpresso ecosystem, which includes an SDK, a choice of IDEs and secure provisioning and configuration tools to enable rapid development. Zephyr RTOS enablement is also available.

i.MX RT1180 features integrated TSN Ethernet switch, EtherCAT, and AVB for industrial networking. Other variants offer from 10 to 1000Mbps Ethernet, CAN FD, SPI, UART, I²C, and I3C, with IEEE-1588 timestamping and MCUXpresso/Zephyr support for scalable development.
i.MX RT1050, i.MX RT1060 and i.MX RT1170 integrate 2D/2.5D GPUs and LCD/MIPI-DSI controllers, supporting smooth HMI at up to WXGA resolution. The MCUXpresso SDK provides graphics drivers for rapid UI development, leveraging on-chip SRAM for frame buffers.
All i.MX RT MCUs offer secure boot, hardware crypto (AES/SHA/ECC), TrustZone, and OTP/PUF keys. i.MX RT1180 and i.MX RT700 add EdgeLock Secure Enclave for lifecycle management and measured boot. MCUXpresso tools support secure firmware signing and key injection.
i.MX RT700 (Cortex-M33 + HiFi4 DSP + NPU) and i.MX RT600 (M33 + HiFi4 DSP) provide up to 7.5 MB SRAM and dedicated DSP RAM, enabling on-device vision and audio processing at microcontroller power budgets. MCUXpresso and eIQ toolkit support rapid deployment.
