This smart access reference design for automotive uses Bluetooth® for pre-ranging and wake-up (with upcoming Bluetooth channel sounding support) and secure ultra-wideband (UWB) ranging and localization, leveraging their coexistence to deliver secure, precise and seamless keyless entry. Fixed anchors in a vehicle work in tandem with a remote device (for example, a key fob) to authenticate the user's proximity with centimeter-level accuracy.

By being compliant to the car connectivity consortium digital key release 4.0 and enabling variants, such as ICCE and ICCOA, the design is a robust, relay-resistant solution that enhances both convenience and security for a digital automotive access system.
