The DSP56690 has been placed on "Not Recommended for New Designs" status. This is NOT an End-of-Life Notice.
Motorola designed the DSP56690 to support the rigorous demands of the wireless subscriber market. It is a dual-core processor that combines the power of the DSP56600 digital signal processor (DSP) core, a 32-bit M-CORE 210 microcontroller (MCU) core, and custom peripherals. Principally designed to fulfill the requirements of mid- to high-tier wireless phones, it is optimized for high data-throughput applications such as general packet radio service (GPRS). The DSP56690 will be produced in volume for many wireless protocols, including GSM, CDMA, TDMA, and iDEN.
