Archived MET and Root LDMOS Models for Agilent's ADS v2001.1001

The following LDMOS Model Library releases have been archived and are available only from this page.
When using these libraries be advised that Application Support is not available for archived versions of LDMOS Model Libraries.

The Motorola Electro Thermal (MET) model for RF LDMOS transistors is a nonlinear model that for the first time examines both electrical and thermal phenomena and can account for dynamic self-heating effects of device performance. It is specifically tailored to model high power RF LDMOS transistors used in wireless base station applications. Implemented in the Agilent EEsof EDA Advanced Design System, the MET LDMOS model is capable of performing small-signal, large-signal, harmonic-balance, noise and transient simulations. Because of its ability to simulate self-heating effects, the MET model is more accurate than existing models, enabling circuit designers to predict prototype performance more accurately and reduce design cycle time.

Refer to the PDF file for more details on the MET LDMOS model. Refer to the file for more details on known limitations of the model.

 Library Information and Installers

This release of the MET LDMOS model (v1001 Release) is available for Agilent EEsof's ADS v2001 (UNIX and PC) nonlinear circuit simulator. The LDMOS Model Library is also available for all major computer platforms that these simulators support.

The MET LDMOS model is available as compiled object code for all major computer platforms. The object code is provided so your user defined models can easily be linked with ours to create a new Agilent EEsof ADS harmonic balance simulator. An Agilent ADS harmonic balance simulator executable and the object code is available for all major computer platforms including Microsoft® Windows® 98, Windows 2000 and Windows NT.® 4.0, Solaris® 2.6 and HP-UX® 10.2.

Note: The Root model is an Agilent EEsof's proprietary model. It is a table based model and does not account for self–heating effects. The Root model is available in Agilent EEsof's ADS only.

Agilent's ADS supports all major computing platforms including Microsoft Windows 98, Windows 2000 and Windows NT. 4.0, Solaris 2.6 and HP-UX 10.2. The LDMOS Model Library is implemented in ADS by means of a custom palette.

LDMOS Model Library Files

The following table contains all the necessary LDMOS Model Library files for ADS v2001. For each computer platform there is a Java installer program. Refer to the library readme file for directions on using the Java installer. Release 2001.1001 replaces the previous LDMOS Model Library files (release 1.5.0601).

Note1: The Binary Files have been modified for this release and are compiled with ADS version v2001 and are NOT compatible with previous ADS releases. Make sure ADS v2001 is properly installed before executing the Java installer program.

Note2: The Java Installer has some defects for Windows version 98. Please refer to the special section within the Troubleshooting ADS Installation document. For this release, we tried to eliminate most of the installation problems encountered in past releases; however, if you continue to have problems please consult the Troubleshooting ADS Installation.
