1. Out of the Box

The NXP analog product development boards provide an easy-to-use platform for evaluating NXP products. The boards support a range of analog, mixed-signal and power solutions. They incorporate monolithic integrated circuits and system-in-package devices that use proven high-volume technology. NXP products offer longer battery life, a smaller form factor, reduced component counts, lower cost and improved performance in powering state-of-the-art systems.

This page will guide you through the process of setting up and using the BATT-7318EMU board.

1.1 Kit Contents and Packing List

The BATT-7318EMU kit contents include:

  • 1 x BATT-7318EMU board
  • 1 x USB-Type C cable
  • 3 x 40-pin cable
  • 1 x 4-pin cable

2. Get Hardware

2.1 Board Features

  • 18 slider potentiometers to adjust the cell voltage between 1.2 V and 4.2 V
  • One slider potentiometer to adjust the negative temperature coefficient (NTC) voltage between 1.2 V and
  • 4.2 V to simulate temperature
  • One slider potentiometer to adjust the shunt voltage between -75 mV and +75 mV
  • One slider potentiometer to adjust the Shunt voltage between -300 mV and +300 mV
  • Maximum balance current capability per battery cell: 300 mA
  • Three 40-pin connectors for BMA7318 evaluation board (EVB) battery cell and NTC temperature connection
  • One 4-pin connector for BMA7318 EVB current measurement connection

2.2 Board Description

The BATT-7318EMU board can emulate a multicells battery pack, multicell temperatures and cell discharge or charge current. The emulation board can be easily hooked to the evaluation boards of the BMA7318 18-cell battery cell controller (BCC):

  • EVBMA7318-SPI: distributed board with single MBMA7318FAIAE that supports serial peripheral interface (SPI) communication
  • EVBMA7318-TPL: distributed board with single MBMA7318TAIAE that supports transport protocol link (TPL) communication
