Features

Highlights

  • 16 switches and four floating blocks of four switches (individual or segments)
  • Increase switch voltage capability to 20 V
  • Low Rdson 1.2 A (or 0.8 A) max per switch (in parallel up to 4.8 A)
  • ASIL B Compliant
  • Integrated 200 MHz oscillator
  • Controller area network (CAN) interface (optionally controller area network flexible data-rate, or CAN FD)) with baud rate switching up to 2 MBps
  • Available multitime programmable (MTP) free usage space for customer (~1 kbits)
  • Five address pins enabling up to 32 Matrix LED controllers (MLCs)
  • Small package outline HLQFP48/HVQFN48 (7x7 mm²)

Intelligent Dimming

  • 12-bit resolution pulse width modification (PWM) up to 600 Hz allowing smooth dimming
  • Programmable PWM duty cycle and phase shifting (also in LHM) to:
    • Synchronize PWM across multiple MLCs
    • Avoid large peak currents when switching
    • Avoid Max string voltage being exceeded
    • Allow higher LED count in string

Advanced Diagnosis

  • Single LED open/short detection in a segment and diagnostics with bypass feature
  • Smart open circuit detection when parallel to LED blocks
  • High open circuit (OC) threshold detection to allow 4 LEDs / switch
  • Detection of maximum voltage (VMAX) to ground short in diagnosing an external capacitor fail
  • Junction temperature and voltage available in register
  • Direct negative temperature coefficient (NTC) resistor input with temperature reading covering entire operating temperature range
  • Power-on reset (POR) monitoring
  • Detection of individual nonfunctional switch
