Jan Klötzke from Kernkozept talks about their L4Re Micro Hypervisor support for Arm® Cortex®-R52 showcased on the NXP S32Z real-time processor to provide a safe implementation with freedom from interference. Safety critical tasks have been deployed to the S32Z processor including the actuation for steering, gas pedal and brakes, in parallel with other vehicle virtual machines, working collaboratively with an Autoware driving system running on Cortex®-A cores. The demonstration shows that fault injection in a virtual machine (VM) does not impact the other virtual machines, and their software enables dynamic VM control and real-time performance data monitoring.
