NXP Theft and Tamper Detection Using Motion Sensor and UWB

This video highlights a use case scenario where a person attaches a SmartSensing UWB tag to his KeyFob and how the tag can be effective in helping localize a lost item. Not only does the SmartSensing UWB tag help locate the item, with the addition of motion sensors, the user is able to see if the KeyFob has been moved or taken for an extra level of security.

The SmartSensing UWB Tag contains NXP’s SR040 (UWB solution for IoT Tags), QN9090 BLE MCU and FXLS8974CF (3-axis MEMS accelerometer). SmartSensing UWB tag design is based on UWB, BLE and motion sensor providing accurate distance and positioning data of the device for indoor localization using precise localization capabilities with secure ranging. The FXLS8974CF Sensor by NXP targets other products as well- from Medical wearables to surveillance and security.
