The EVBMA7118 is a distributed cell monitoring unit (CMU) with electrical transport protocol link (ETPL) communication. It is ideal for rapid prototyping of hardware and software of a high-voltage battery management system (HVBMS). This board contains one BMA7118 analog front end (AFE). Several units of this board can be connected to the same daisy chain.

  • 9x analog inputs for negative temperature coefficient (NTC) temperature sensors

Cell Balancing

  • Integrated passive cell balancing up to 300 mA peak

Communication

  • Isolated electrical transport protocol link (ETPL) communication between CMU and battery management unit (BMU)

Cost Reduction

  • Optimized bill of materials (BOM) using capacitive isolation on and off board
