S12P Automotive and Industrial Microcontrollers (MCUs)
Ideal for body control applications, the S12P family of CAN microcontrollers (MCUs) offers the enhanced features of 16-bit performance at the value of 8-bit MCUs.
The S12P family bridges the gap between 8- and 16-bit automotive CAN MCUs and serves as the entry point into NXP 16-bit family offerings.
Compatible and scalable with the S12XS family, the S12P allows customers to have a range of lower sized memory and feature set options for their applications.
The family includes four devices that offer an array of program and data flash memory sizes with error correcting codes (ECC), RAM, a MSCAN module and package options that scale from 48-80 pins.

- S12 core, 32 MHz bus
- Up to 128 KB of on-chip flash with ECC
- Up to 6 KB RAM
- 4 KB DataFlash® with ECC
- MSCAN module supporting CAN protocol 2.0 A/B
- SCI supporting LIN communications
- Serial peripheral interface (SPI)
- 8-channel, 16-bit timer supporting input capture, output compare, counter and pulse accumulator functions
- 10-channel, 12-bit resolution successive approximation analog-to-digital converter (ADC)
- Pulse width modulation (PWM) module with 6 x 8-bit channels
- Phase locked loop (PLL) frequency multiplier with internal filter
- 4-16 MHz amplitude controlled Pierce oscillator
- 1 MHz internal RC oscillator
- Autonomous periodic interrupt (API)
- This product is included in NXP product longevity program, with assured supply for a minimum of 15 years after launch
