The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas is always an exciting time for NXP and our partners, since it lets us showcase the many breakthrough Smart Home technologies and ecosystems that we're bringing to life. As part of our larger CES showcase, NXP highlighted how we're delivering Brighter Lives.
One of the world's first demonstrations of Intelligent Energy Management over Matter.
Here are some highlights from the show:
Sensing Vitals
We're enhancing lives by helping people stay safe at home. Using advanced sensor technologies, such as Ultra Wideband (UWB)
, we make it easier for people to age in place, with continuous monitoring of biometrics and medical monitoring hubs that let family members and caregivers make sure everyone's all right. You can locate loved ones, check vital signs like breathing rate and, if needed, alert medical emergency help and give them secure access to the home when they arrive.
Saving Energy
Using the latest iteration of Matter
, the interoperability spec that gives smart devices a common language, we're unlocking greater autonomy for intelligent home energy management systems (HEMS).
Through our partnership with geo
(Green Energy Options Ltd) and their new SeeZero product line, we're extending the value of autonomous homes by connecting intelligent energy monitoring systems that keep track of and control a variety of devices and appliances. Whether you're talking about Matter enabled smart plugs from Aqara or Matter enabled appliances from Bosch or Thermador, these new industry first SeeZero products help you run a smarter, cheaper, greener home.
Reducing Food Waste
In the kitchen, we're adding sleek, AI enabled camera systems to next generation refrigerators, for increased quality and reduced waste. Real time inventory management, with features like expiration date reminder and energy efficiency monitoring, make it easier to keep track of what you have and reduce waste by making sure items get used before they spoil. The fridge becomes a wellness hub, too, by making it easier to plan meals that support health.
Secure and Autonomous Access
With a UWB enabled smartphone in your pocket, your home can easily react to your presence, locking or unlocking doors and modifying security settings based on your movements. As an active member in the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA), we are helping to shape the upcoming
Aliro standard
, which will let developers use readily available technologies, including UWB, to create new levels of automation, security, and convenience when entering and exiting living spaces.
Fast Time to Market
An underlying theme for all these exciting new Smart Home showcases is convenience, for developers as well as consumers. For instance, our Freedom (FRDM) Board Ecosystem includes basic computing platforms that can quickly scale to different capabilities, so you can develop quickly and deliver innovative ideas faster than ever. On the software side, our
NXP Platform Accelerator
allows leverage containerization with a standard API, aiming to improve cost, accelerate time to market, and supercharge engineering teams.
On display, were our Intelligent Energy system solutions along with our SW and HW acceleration and development tools.
