Let's start with introducing ourselves.
Last updated: May 2026
We are NXP. We design purpose-built, rigorously tested technologies that enable devices to sense, think, connect and act intelligently to improve people's daily lives. We do this together with our ca. 34K talented team members, acting in over 30 countries - with our HQ in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
So when we talk about "we", "us" or "our", we talk about NXP B.V Netherlands and all its affiliates.
We process personal data for different purposes, depending on the way you interact with us.
Please note that NXP does not offer products or services to minors under 18 years old.
At NXP, we value the individuals who seek to join our global team of innovators. Whether you are applying for a job or an internship, we are committed to handling your personal data with transparency, care, and in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
This section explains how we process your personal data during the recruitment and onboarding phases. It covers the types of data we collect, the reasons we collect it, the legal bases for doing so, and how we safeguard your information throughout the process. We also outline your rights and how you can exercise them.
Our goal is to ensure that your application experience is respectful, secure and aligned with our values of integrity and accountability. If you have any questions or concerns about how your data is handled, our Global Privacy Office is available to support you.
When you apply for a job with us, we collect employment information (job application information) and business or personal contact information directly from you or indirectly from external websites such as LinkedIn, Indeed and WeChat. In some cases we use recruitment agencies to find candidates, and we receive your information from them.
Our recruiters and hiring managers use your information (for example, qualifications and work history) to evaluate your qualifications, experience and suitability for the position. During this process we use your contact details to communicate with you about your application.
Sometimes we agree to refund travel expenses made to attend an interview on location. In such situation, we have a legitimate interest to use your payment information.
If we decide to offer you the job, we will use your information to provide the job offer and execute the employment contract. The information¹ provided during your application phase will then be saved in your personnel file.
If you are not hired, we will ask your consent to keep your information in our system for 2 years to match you with future job openings. If you do not consent to this, we will retain your information for a maximum of 6 months.
To improve our recruitment process, we will ask your consent to send you a survey to understand your experience with our recruitment process.
Legal grounds used to process the personal data above:
As part of the onboarding phase, NXP requires certain identity information and related employment information to verify your identity and residence status. This is a legal obligation we must fulfill before finalizing your employment.
Depending on your role and location, we may also conduct background checks to confirm your education, work experience and other relevant qualifications. These checks are performed either by our own staff or on behalf of us by a specialized service provider.
The scope and method of background checks vary based on position and location. We may ask you to provide clarification on certain details and supporting documents, such as a copy of your diploma or professional certifications. Additionally, we may contact relevant institutions, such as universities or previous employers, to confirm your education or work experience. In exceptional cases, a criminal check or a credit check can be requested of you.
Legal grounds used to process the personal data above:
In addition to recruitment-related activities, NXP may process applicant data for broader business and compliance purposes. These uses are not directly tied to the hiring decision but are essential to support legal, operational and strategic functions across our global organization.
Business operations, reporting, statistical analyses and improvement of the recruitment process. For this purpose, employment information (job application information) and related business or personal contact information are used in aggregated form. The Legal ground used to collect this data is NXP's legitimate interest to understand and improve its recruitment process.
In order to comply with global legal obligations, we are required to report on various employment-related matters. In some jurisdictions, this also includes reporting on diversity in employment. For this purpose we process data on ethnicity in jurisdictions where this is legally required. Data about your ethnicity is only collected directly from you.
NXP does not sell your personal data. We only share it with trusted parties who process data on our behalf or with whom we have a contractual relationship.
As a global company, many of our systems and operations are centralized or interconnected across regions. This means your data may be accessed or processed by other NXP entities beyond the location where you applied—for example, if your future manager is based in another country.
We also engage external service providers to support our recruitment process, including:
All third parties operate under strict contractual obligations and data protection safeguards.
If you are not selected for the position, we retain your application data for up to six (6) months. If you provide consent, we may retain your data for up to two (2) years to consider you for future opportunities. Survey responses and other optional data are retained only with your explicit consent and in accordance with our data retention policy.

We also share your data with authorized distributors and partners for the processes of Marketing and Sales where we jointly support your sales and service experience.
We also rely on external service providers to support website operations, account management, marketing and IT infrastructure. These providers act under contractual obligations and process data on behalf of NXP.

We also outline your rights and how you can manage your preferences and communications.
Our goal is to ensure that every support interaction is handled with professionalism, transparency and respect for your privacy—whether you are accessing help through our website, via email, or through direct engagement with our technical and sales teams.
NXP offers customer support through various channels, including NXP.com, email and direct engagement with our technical and sales teams. When you contact us for assistance—whether to resolve a technical issue, inquire about a product, or request documentation—we process relevant business contact information and, where applicable, business account information (such as complaints) and platform information (usage information) to respond effectively and maintain service quality. Depending on how you contact us, we may collect and process different information to respond to your request and maintain service quality.
If you submit a support request through a form on NXP.com, we collect the information you provide, including your contact details, product or topic of interest, and a description of your issue. This data helps us deliver personalized support, maintain a record of your interactions, and ensure consistent service across teams and regions.
Legal bases for processing:
To assist you during your visit to NXP.com, we offer a Live Chat feature. This allows you to ask questions, request help with account access, or seek product guidance. For this purpose we process business contact information and platform information (usage information) shared during the chat. If you are not logged in, we will ask for basic contact details (name, email, country and company name) to initiate the chat. If you are logged in, a support case is automatically created in our internal system. All information shared during the chat is recorded and used to provide support and follow-up communications. If needed, we may use your email or phone number to keep you informed or connect you with a technical or sales representative.
We also use the information you provide during the chat, as well as any product-related details you share, to provide you with additional information about products and services that we think might be of interest to you.

If the enquiry is resolved during the chat, the chat can be closed. If the enquiry is not resolved and a request has been made, we will use your email address to send you a confirmation of the request and keep you up to date on the progress. If you would like to be contacted by phone by someone from our tech or sales team, we would require you to provide your phone number.
Legal bases for processing:
In addition to providing direct support, NXP may process business contact information, business account information, platform information (usage information), and—where applicable—network and device information for broader operational, legal and compliance-related purposes. These activities are not directly tied to a specific support request but are essential to maintaining the quality, security and continuity of our global services. These purposes include:
As a global company, NXP operates interconnected systems and support teams across multiple regions. Your data may be accessed or processed by other NXP entities beyond the location where you interact with us—for example, when you submit a support request from your office in Taiwan and receive assistance from an engineer in the Netherlands.
We also share your data with authorized distributors where we jointly support your sales and service experience. If you indicate that you want to be contacted by one of our partners, we share your information with our authorized partners. We analyze these interactions using platform information (usage information), relevant business account information (such as purchase/order history where applicable), and business contact information to build a profile of your interests and determine how best to support your journey—from initial engagement to potential purchase. This profiling helps us tailor communications, recommend relevant products, and prioritize follow-up actions.
If your data is collected by one of our partners or distributors and shared with NXP, please refer to their privacy notice to understand how they handle your personal data.
Legal bases for processing:
NXP conducts global sales through a combination of direct engagement and a network of authorized partners and distributors. When you interact with NXP outside of NXP.com—such as through email, phone, in-person meetings, or via our sales representatives and channel partners—we process your personal data to support commercial activities and maintain business relationships.
This may include collecting and using your contact details, business information, product interests and communication history to provide quotations, respond to inquiries, manage orders, and coordinate delivery and support. In some cases, we may request additional documentation, such as a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), especially when discussing sensitive or security-related products.

These parties operate under contractual obligations and may jointly determine how your data is used to fulfill sales-related activities.

NXP enables customers to explore, request and purchase products and samples directly through NXP.com. To facilitate these transactions, we collect and process personal data necessary to fulfill your request, verify eligibility, and support your commercial engagement.
When you place an order or request a sample, we collect your contact details, shipping information, and—where applicable—payment or billing data. This information is used to process your request, deliver the product or sample, and provide related communications. Some transactions may require you to log in to your NXP.com account or provide additional business details to confirm eligibility. In certain cases, such as when accessing security-related materials, we may ask you to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
To facilitate efficient order fulfillment and tailored support, NXP may share relevant business contact information, business account information (such as order history), and—where applicable—payment information with authorized partners and distributors. These entities are responsible for managing logistics, providing technical expertise, and responding to product inquiries. NXP has established contractual agreements with all partners and distributors; in these instances, NXP and its trusted affiliates jointly determine how these categories of data are utilized to support purchases, product interests or sample requests.

An Event can be online, such as a webinar, or offline, such as a tradeshow or a competition - both offline and online Events are discussed in this section.
Below you can find all personal data categories we process for each purpose, accompanied with the legal ground for that purpose, the recipients we share the data with, the retention period and a reference to your rights.
In order to register you as a participant for an event organized by NXP, alone or together with others, we require business contact information (and, where applicable, business account information related to your registration). We also use these categories of data to communicate with you about the event.
During in-person events, we process audiovisual information (photos and/or videos) in which you may be captured, for the promotion of the events on online and offline channels. You can object to the processing of your personal data for event promotion at any time. To do so, contact us as specified in the privacy notice or event communications. We will review your request and stop processing unless legal grounds require otherwise.
In some cases, online events are recorded, for example, for training purposes. If you do not want to be recorded, please keep your camera off. You are also free to watch the recording instead of join the event. Please note that we are unable to remove you from the recording after the event is recorded.
Legal grounds used to process the personal data above:
Attending an NXP event indicates your interest in NXP products and services. Based on your location, we may use the contact details you provided at registration to confirm your interest in our offerings.
If you attend an offline event hosted by NXP, you can decide to participate in badge scanning. Badge scanning means you allow the exhibitor to scan the bar code on your event ticket. In a manner similar to providing a business card, scanning the bar code means that the business contact information that you provided in your visitor registration form will be shared with the exhibitor.
In case the event is hosted by NXP and other hosting partners, your data will be shared with the other hosting parties. If you want to know more about the processing of your data for a specific event, check the privacy notice for that event.
Legal grounds used to process the personal data above:
This category contains (3) purposes for which your data is processed that are not directly connected to the Event organizing process, and are therefore mentioned in a more concise manner.
As we are a global company, many of our operations and systems run globally. Your data is therefore also processed by other NXP entities than the one you are interacting with. For example, when an online event is organized by another entity than the entity in your country of residence.
When we organize events together with other hosting parties, such as our partners, your data will be shared with the other organizing parties. As mentioned above, depending if you take part in badge scanning, your data will also be shared with the exhibitors you allow to scan your badge at events.
Additionally, we use external providers for our internal systems, on which we save your data.
We will retain your personal data only as long as it is necessary to achieve the purposes for which it was collected, as set out in the paragraph above. We will delete your data once the processing purposes are met and no legal retention obligations apply, in line with our data retention policy.
You can use your account used for registering to the Event to revoke consent or update your personal data. To learn about and exercise your Rights, go to Section 3.
NXP maintains an active presence across various social media platforms to engage with customers, partners and the broader technology community. Whether you follow our channels, interact with our posts, or participate in discussions, we are committed to handling your personal data responsibly and transparently.
This section explains how we process personal data when you engage with NXP through social media platforms, such as LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube and others. It outlines the types of data we may receive, how we use it to improve communication and outreach, and how we collaborate with platform providers.
Our goal is to ensure that your interactions with NXP on social media are respectful of your privacy, aligned with your expectations, and compliant with applicable data protection laws. We also encourage you to review the privacy notices of the platforms you use to understand how your data is handled by those providers.
NXP has several social media channels, such as X (previously known as Twitter), LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube. Everything you do on our channels is captured by the social media platform, and visible for NXP and other internet users. For example, if you like our posts, comment on our videos, share a picture with us or how often you clicked on our post, but also social media information (such as account and contact details) depending on your privacy settings.
We also receive statistical data from social media platforms. This data is aggregated data, which means it cannot be directly linked back to you.
Your activity data collected on our social media channels is shared with our internal social media and marketing team and processed in our internal marketing tools, in order to improve our social media channels and nurture our marketing campaigns.
We also use our social media channels to communicate with you. Sometimes we share voluntary surveys on our channels to gain insight into specific topics. In order to do so, we will process your social media information and receive whatever information you provide directly.
Our LinkedIn channel is only used for the recruitment process. More on that process in Section A - Applicant.
Legal grounds used to process the personal data above:
In addition to direct engagement through social media channels, NXP may process your personal data for broader operational, legal and compliance-related purposes. These activities are not directly tied to your interaction with our social media content but are necessary to support the integrity and continuity of our global business. These purposes include:
As we are a global company, many of our operations and systems are managed across multiple regions. Your data is therefore also processed by other NXP entities than the one you are interacting with. For example, when you send us a comment or question via our social media channels from your desk in France, and a member of our social media team responds from her desk in the US.
When you visit our social media channels, the provider of that social media platform is also a controller with respect to your personal data. They also track your behavior on their platform. If you want to know more about how the social media platform provider processes your data, please review their privacy notice: Facebook , X , LinkedIn and YouTube .
Additionally, we use external providers for our internal systems, such as DSMN8 on which we save your data.
We will retain your personal data only as long as it is necessary to achieve the purposes for which it was collected, as set out in the paragraph above. We will delete your data once the processing purposes are met and no legal retention obligations apply, in line with our data retention policy.
You can use your Social Media account used to communicate with NXP's social media channel to revoke consent or update your personal data. Most of the data processing on the social media platform is not under the control of NXP.
If you want to exercise your Rights concerning your data processed by NXP as described above, go to Section 3.
At NXP, we welcome a wide range of visitors to our global offices, laboratories and manufacturing sites—including customers, partners, contractors and guests. To ensure the safety, security and operational integrity of our facilities, we process certain personal data when you visit an NXP location.
This section explains how we handle personal data in the context of physical access to NXP premises. It covers the types of data we collect—such as visitor registration details, badge scans and CCTV footage—and outlines the purposes for which this data is used, including access control, incident prevention and compliance with legal and regulatory obligations.
We are committed to processing visitor data transparently and securely, in accordance with applicable data protection laws and internal policies. Whether you are attending a meeting, delivering services, or participating in an event, your privacy and safety are important to us.
When you visit an NXP location, we process your personal data to ensure secure access to our facilities and compliance with applicable safety and regulatory requirements. As part of our visitor management process, we ask you or your host to register (you) upon arrival. This includes collecting your Business contact information. If you arrive by car or another vehicle, you have the option to provide your license plate number for parking access.
Before entering the premises, we ask you to present a valid form of identification to verify your identity. However, we do not store your identification documents or biometric data. Once registered, you will receive a visitor badge that allows you to enter and exit the facility. Each badge scan is logged to maintain an accurate record of who is on-site, which is essential for compliance with fire safety regulations and emergency protocols.
All data collected during your visit is processed in accordance with NXP's internal security policies and applicable data protection laws. It is used solely for the purpose of managing access, ensuring safety, and fulfilling legal obligations.
Legal basis for processing:
To protect our employees, visitors and physical assets, NXP implements a range of security measures across its global locations. This includes the use of CCTV cameras and badge access systems to monitor and control entry to sensitive areas.
If you visit an NXP site, your image may be captured by our CCTV systems (audiovisual information), which are positioned to record key access points and high-security zones. These recordings are used solely for security purposes, such as incident prevention, investigation and compliance with workplace safety regulations. CCTV footage is retained for a maximum of 28 days, unless a longer retention period is required by law or due to a specific incident.
In addition to video surveillance, we use badge scanners to ensure that only authorized individuals can access restricted areas. Each badge scan is logged to maintain a secure record of movement within the facility and to support emergency response protocols.
All data collected through these systems is processed in accordance with applicable data protection laws and NXP's internal security policies. It is not used for profiling or identification beyond the scope of physical security.
Legal basis for processing:
In addition to managing your visit and ensuring physical security, NXP may process visitor-related data for broader operational, legal and compliance purposes. These activities are not directly tied to your entry or exit from our premises but are essential to maintaining the integrity, safety and continuity of our global operations. These purposes include:
As a global company, NXP operates interconnected systems and teams across multiple regions. Your visitor data may be accessed or processed by other NXP entities beyond the location you visited. For example, if you visit our headquarters in Eindhoven, your visitor data may be stored in global systems and accessed by our global security team.
We also rely on external service providers to manage certain aspects of visitor data, such as badge registration and access control systems. These providers operate under contractual obligations and data protection safeguards.
CCTV recordings are retained for no longer than 28 days, unless required by law or in connection with a specific incident. Visitor registration data is retained for a maximum of four (4) years. We do not retain personal data longer than necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, and we delete it once those purposes are met and no legal retention obligations apply, in accordance with our data retention policy.
To learn about and exercise your Rights concerning your data processed by NXP, go to Section 3.
As a global company, many of our operations and systems run globally. Your data is therefore also processed by other NXP entities than the one you are interacting with. Our entities are located in the following countries: Canada, Mexico, United States, Greater China, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Israel, United Kingdom and the EEA (Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands (HQ), the Nordic and Baltic Countries and Romania).
We ensure that all international data transfers comply with applicable data protection laws. Transfers are made to countries with an adequate level of protection, as determined by adequacy decisions or certification mechanisms. Where necessary, we implement additional safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses and conduct Transfer Impact Assessments.
As part of our commitment to advancing safe and secure automotive technologies, NXP conducts vehicle-based recording activities to support the development and validation of system solutions for autonomy, connectivity and electrification.
These recordings are made using vehicles equipped with cameras and sensors that capture video footage and sensor data of everyday traffic environments. This may include images of vehicles, license plates, road infrastructure and pedestrians. The recordings are not continuous or real-time surveillance; they reflect only what the system observed during specific drives on specific days and locations.
The data collected is processed exclusively within NXP's secure development environments and is used to improve product functionality, verify safety performance, and support research and innovation. The recordings are not used to identify individuals, and no attempt is made to link the footage to personal identities. All processing is conducted in accordance with applicable data protection laws and internal safeguards.
For more detailed information about this activity, including data handling practices and your rights, please refer to the dedicated Privacy Notice for Vehicle Recording by NXP.
Depending on your location and the applicable data protection laws, you may have certain rights in relation to your personal data. These rights may vary by jurisdiction and may be subject to limitations under applicable law.
Subject to applicable legal requirements, your rights may include:
You also always have the right to complain to your national data protection authority if you believe that our processing of your personal data violates data protection laws.
If you want to exercise any of the rights above, please submit your request via our online form or by writing to us as set out in Section 5.
