This Linux software development kit (SDK) includes support for family of QorIQ® Arm®-based and Power Architecture®-based system on chip (SoC) processors and corresponding boards.
Linux board support packages (BSPs) for our Silicon are tested, certified and frozen, ensuring a fully operational toolchain, kernel and board specific modules that are ready to use together within a fixed configuration for specific hardware reference platforms. These BSPs, combined with CodeWarrior® tools, provide the foundation you need to begin your project quickly.
Customers have the option of both QorIQ SDK as well as community to meet their enablement needs on Power Architecture-based P-series and T-series families of processors.
As NXP, we are committed to contributing enablement software for our platforms into communities like kernel.org, uboot etc. NXP is an excellent option for getting updated and appropriate enablement software for our platforms. As the architecture matures, the enablement is upstream and accepted into the community permitting customers to get it directly from the community. NXP maintains our platforms as part of the community effort.
Going forward, we encourage customers using Power Architecture-based P-series and T-series platforms to get the enablement software directly from the community sources like kernel.org and denx.de (uboot).
