CodeWarrior® Development Studio for ColdFire® Architectures Linux Application Edition and Linux® Platform Edition v2.5 are all-inclusive tool suites designed to accelerate embedded Linux® application development for ColdFire processors.
The Linux Platform Edition gives you the ability to deploy and debug a Linux kernel, in addition to creating Linux applications. You can simultaneously debug an application process while using a JTAG connection to debug the kernel — all with source code views and visibility into the memory translations associated with the Linux OS.
The Linux Application Edition is available for Linux and Windows® operating systems and allows application development on an existing platform, which has a stable Linux kernel and drivers. This tool suite gives you access to the ColdFire processor registers and cache. It also handles all MMU translations for productive source code debugging of applications and loadable modules operating in user mode. The tool suites include the GNU C++ Compiler (GCC) and CodeWarrior project manager, source-level debug and search engine.
