The LPC86x family of 60 MHz Arm® Cortex®-M0+ based MCUs are a cost-optimized solution for power- and size-sensitive control and connectivity tasks including IoT devices, sensor gateways, PC accessories, wearables, robotics, motor control and more.
The LPC800 Series provides a 32-bit solution that makes it easy to move up from 8-bit with minimum disruption and cost. If you are looking to migrate from 8 or 16-bit microcontrollers you can use sample Code Bundles to jump start your design. These examples are also pre-installed in the MCUXpresso IDE.
The LPC800 series provides an entry-level backbone a wide range of embedded applications.
Typical applications include:

Yes, the LPC860 family offers an I3C communication interface. Access this How to Use I3C in LPC860 application note to learn more about this peripheral.
The LPC800 MCUs include a switch matrix design feature that allows developers to flexibly assign internal signals to external pins. Most digital functions can be assigned to any GPIO pins by the switch matrix. The switch matrix can be configured to movable or fixed-pin functions. You can use this feature to assign different functions to external pins according to your requirements using a single line of code or a single click in the configuration tool.
To simplify serial communication requirements, the pattern match engine can be configured to generate interrupts from user-configurable Boolean operations on its 8 pins.
The LPC800 Series is supported by MCUXpresso software and tools. It is as easy as ready, set, go.
