X-IN-1 System Integration for Electric Vehicle (EV)
In the electric vehicle market, X-IN-1 system is an integration concept aiming to combine multiple powertrain functions, such as traction inverter, onboard charger (OBC), power conversion (DC/DC), high-voltage power distribution unit (HV PDU), vehicle control unit (VCU), battery monitoring system (BMS) and thermal management system.
Such an approach rationalizes space, weight and cost of the system as well as the efficiency. This high level of integration not only reduces system complexity and cost but it also enhances performance, reliability and space efficiency. By minimizing interconnects and optimizing thermal management, X-IN-1 systems pave the way for faster development cycles and scalable platforms across various vehicle segments.
With S32K39 and S32K5 microcontroller units (MCUs), NXP ensures safe isolation and freedom from interference (FFI) to allow multiple application-software integrations on the same microcontroller.
