Join our teamThe configurable development system (CDS) supports a wide range of NXP® processors built on Power Architecture® technology, such as the MPC8548E family of processors, including the MPC8548, MPC8547E, MPC8545E and MPC8543E. It is primarily a development and evaluation system, which is enhanced by its modular design, making it highly configurable.
Using the CDS system on-board resources and an associated debugger, download and run code, set breakpoints, display memory and registers, and connect proprietary hardware via the expansion connectors. That code can then be incorporated into a system with the MPC85xx processor.

The configurable development system (CDS) was developed to support a wide range of NXP PowerPC&trade-based processors such as the MPC8548E. The system is primarily a development and evaluation system, which is enhanced by its modular design, making it highly configurable.
This errata describes corrections to the MPC8548E Configurable Development System Reference Manual, Revision 2.
NXP Semiconductors Power Architecture™ technology-based evaluation and development platforms may optionally implement a “System ID” non-volatile memory device. This device stores important configuration data about the board.
