NXP is licensing many functional IP blocks in various fields. An IP block is a reusable unit of logic, cell, or chip layout design and can be used as building block for various chip- and logic designs.

By making this technology available NXP is opening up the opportunity for chip designers to leverage our world-class building blocks in a wide assortment of on-chip solutions. Several IP block licenses include relevant application software.

Licensing proven NXP IP blocks may help lower development costs and may help shorten time-to-market. NXP has years of experience with CPU/DSP/RF/SW license models and support and where applicable a cooperation with partners is established.

CoolFlux DSP is an audio DSP core developed with years of experience in Ultra Low Power Design at NXP's ultralow power design group in Leuven. Recently NXP completed a new core in the CoolFlux DSP family optimized for Baseband Signal Processing such as for Software Defined Radio: the CoolFlux BSP32.

The FlexCAN controller is a highly configurable, synthesizable core implementing the CAN protocol (ISO 11898-1), CAN with Flexible Data rate (CAN FD), and CAN 2.0 B protocol specifications, built from silicon-proven NXP technology.

The StarCore SC3900FP flexible vector processor (FVP) is a high performance communication DSP. The core aids in enabling highly efficient and flexible implementation of the physical (PHY) layer of software-definable radio systems for existing and next-generation wireless standards of WCDMA, HSPA+, TD-SCDMA, WiMAX, LTE and LTE Advanced.

WiFi 1x1 SISO dual band 802.11ac Transceiver IP

1x1 SISO Dual Band 802.11ac Transceiver IP is a complete front-end optimized for dual band high performance WiFi applications. It is compliant with the IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac standards and designed for manufacturing in the TSMC 28nm HPC process.

2x2 MIMO 11ac/ax 5GHz Transceiver

The transceiver includes two transmitters and three receivers to support 2x2 MIMO operation with an independent observation receiver. It uses a direct conversion architecture for both RX and TX. The device includes channel filtering and high-speed data converters.

The low power Connectivity IP is an IP that is suited for a wide range of SoC integrations. It features Bluetooth Basic Rate BR, Extended Data Rate EDR (2 and 3 Mb/s modes) and Bluetooth Low Energy LE. It is fully compliant with Bluetooth Core Specification Version 4.2 and prepared for compliance with all PHY-related features of Version 5.0, including 2 Mbps and Long Range modes.

Low Power Multi-Mode Connectivity Front-End IP – Bluetooth® Low Energy/802.15.4

The low power connectivity front-end IP is suited for a wide range of SoC integrations for Bluetooth low energy and IEEE802.15.4 applications. It enables implementations that are compliant with Bluetooth Core Specification version 4.2 and to IEEE802.15.4-2011 Clause 10 for ZigBee applications. Low-Power Multiband Broadcast Radio IP

The multiband radio front-end IP is a fully integrated alignment-free turn-key SoC solution for analog and digital radio broadcast reception. It receives analog FM and AM as well as digital radio broadcasts DAB, HD, DRM30+ which are applicable in the L-, VHF3-, VHF2-, SW-, MW- and LW-bands.

Multiband ISM Transceiver IP

The transceiver is a fully integrated radio solution for ISM band low data rate communication, low power and low complexity short-range radio frequency transmission in a wireless personal area network. The concept used is silicon proven in mature 0.18 μm CMOS technologies and can easily be transferred to other CMOS technologies.

GNSS receiver subsystem IP

The Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) IP is a fully integrated alignment-free turnkey solution for GNSS enabled SoC devices for combinations of GPS, GLONASS, BEIDOU and/or GALILEO reception. The dual channels share a common GNSS RF front-end, frequency synthesizer and other infrastructure, resulting in a small die area and inherent interference free coexistence between the two channels.
