NXP smart high side switches for automotive (12 V), bus/truck (24V) and industrial application are eXtreme switch devices. They belong to an expanding family designed to control, protect and diagnose various types of loads with enhanced precision in BCM, ECU or junction boxes. Typical loads are incandescent bulbs, light emitting diodes modules (LEDs) and DC motors. With on-resistance ranging from 2 mOhm to 50 mOhm in 1 to 5 channel configurations, these products combine flexibility, advanced protection and diagnostics through daisy chainable SPI for safe and robust designs.
Application | Key Product Features | Featured Product Families |
---|---|---|
12 V Automotive | From 2 to 40 mOhm Rdson, 1 to 5 outputs, up to 27 V operating voltage, SPI 8 to 16 bits, fully protected high-side switches with daisy chain capability and limp home mode. | |
24 V Bus / Truck | From 6 to 50 mOhm Rdson, dual output switches in PQFN and SOIC packages, up to 36 V operating voltage, SPI 16 bits 3.3/5 V compatible with daisy chain capability, fully protected high-side switches with embedded PWM clock and output parallelization. | |
Industrial | From 7 to 17 mOhm Rdson, 5 outputs, up to 32 V operating voltage, SPI 16 bits with daisy chain capability and direct control, fully protected high-side switches with PWM module and I/V/T analog diagnostic. |
Smart high-side switches combine flexibility through programmable SPI and robust designs through embedded protection, extended digital and analog feedback.
